Is interim coverage or an interim traveling career right for you?

Interim leadership is the temporary placement of specially trained and experienced personnel to cover a vacant position or a gap in coverage for a period of time from 30 days to potentially as long as a year. Interim Nursing Home Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and Consultants can serve to implement change where needed, manage survey preparation, survey plan of correction, or simply serve as the captain and maintain the course of your facility. Interim and remote RNAC MDS Coordinators can bring current your past-due MDSs and maximize your facility’s reimbursements.

What are the requirements for working with 360 Medical Staffing?

In most cases, you need two or more years of experience in a specialty area and must have worked in that environment within the last two years. In some cases, facilities may accept Travelers with less than two years of experience; however, this typically applies to direct care positions that are not interim leadership roles. Criminal background check, drug test, license verifications, professional references, and other screenings are completed on each candidate before starting an assignment.

Do you need a state license?

To be eligible for interim travel assignments, health care professionals must be licensed in the state where the assignment is physically located. Ask your recruiter how they can assist you with licensure.

If you are a nurse and eligible as a resident of a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state, you may choose to obtain a multi-state license via the (NLC), which allows nurses to practice in all NLC states. See which states are currently included below.

How long is a contract?

Interim Travel contracts, on average, are for 13 weeks; however, some may be as little as four to eight weeks and as long as one year. While contracts may vary greatly in days, weeks, and months you always have the choice to accept or decline assignments or extensions. We simply ask that you provide us with at least a two week notice of declining extensions.

How will my pay be determined?

360 Medical Staffing operates a W-2 model company and that means our Travelers are employees of the company and not 1099 contractors. Pay rates depend on location, cost of living, job type, and specialization, as well as the client facility contracts. Each client is different. Our staff customizes a compensation package based on these elements and in consideration of your professional goals. Our compensation rates are competitively attractive.

Can I choose where I go?

Yes, however, your desired location may not be available when you are. Your recruiter will work with you to get you as close to your desired location as possible, however please understand that job opportunities arise when our client facilities have a need or demand for a Traveler with your skill set and experience. We work in all 50 states and we proactively pursue opportunities by marketing your professional profile to clients in the areas that you seek, based on your skill set and interests.

What is the typical schedule?

Most work weeks are 40 hours. Some assignments may call for more or fewer hours, depending on your job type and assignment. Your schedule and expected work hours are documented within each respective assignment contract, so you’ll know the schedule before starting work.

What if I encounter concerns about quality and patient safety?

We are committed to priding the highest quality service and personnel, with that commitment we take quality seriously. We are always open to discuss any concerns related to the quality of our company and that of our Traveler’s, and most importantly any potential patient safety concerns. We have an incident and complaint reporting system available to you at any time, you may also, without concern for or threat of repercussion, report any concern related to quality or patient safety with any 360 Medical Staffing representative by calling us 813-725-3601.

How does travel and housing work?

Travel and housing arrangements vary and are subject to the contract requirements of our client facilities. Most contracts stipulate that Traveler’s will drive to the facility location. When you drive a personal vehicle, we reimburse mileage for your commute to and from the assignment location and your home or current location. Some contracts will include flights, rental car, and housing and when that occurs 360 Medical Staffing will coordinate everything for you and pay for those expenses.

The most common housing process is that 360 Medical Staffing will coordinate housing for you. We will identify your housing preferences and work to locate and secure the type of housing that you desire. For example: you might travel with someone special, bring a pet, prefer a kitchenette or a room with a view, we will work with you to secure safe and desirable accommodations. We will make the reservation and pay for the housing. Housing is commonly within extended stay hotels but may vary by geographic locations and types of housing available.
